Problem Note 47828: PROC SEVERITY does not properly exit when a syntax error occurs

If a syntax error occurs in a step of the SEVERITY procedure, the procedure does not properly clean up internal memory resources, which can cause a Read or Write access violation error in a subsequent step in the program. It can also cause the corruption of an output data set that was created by a previous PROC SEVERITY step.
To circumvent the problem, correct any syntax errors in the PROC SEVERITY step and rerun the analysis.
