Problem Note 47303: PROC METALIB returns meaningless text and the error "No metadata objects found matching the specified URI"
The METALIB procedure might fail to process a renamed table. This failure occurs if you rename the table in your SAS® Metadata Repository such that the new object name contains a blank space or other non-alphanumeric character before running PROC METALIB.
The error message that is returned contains meaningless text and unprintable characters, as illustrated here:
To circumvent the problem:
- Open the table's Properties dialog box in SAS® Management Console.
- On the General tab, modify the table's name so that the metadata name matches the name of the table as it exists in the physical data source. In addition, make sure that the name does not contain any special characters.
