Problem Note 47231: "Some code points did not transcode" might appear when opening a shortcut to a SAS® Web Report Studio report

DetailsAboutRate It

When the generated URL for an e-mailed report exceeds a certain length, SAS Web Report Studio creates a shortcut file that can be used to open the report. You can send a link to the shortcut, or you can attach the shortcut directly to the message. The file type of the shortcut is HTML.

However, if the URL includes filter values and if those values include any national (non-ASCII) characters, then the HTML is not encoded properly. When you attempt to use the file to open the report in SAS Web Report Studio, you see the following error:

Missing report element
....
Some code points did not transcode.
