Problem Note 46654: SAS® Marketing Automation campaigns on a Netezza database might fail to execute with error "Could not serialize - transaction aborted..."

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

SAS Marketing Automation campaigns might fail to execute when multiple communications are executed concurrently against a Netezza database. When this problem occurs, SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio displays a generic error message. However, the SASMarketingAutomationCore5.x.log contains errors similar to the one below:

Return Status in process 6760:
SYSCC=100000
MAError=846
MAMsg=Macro[MACPTPUB]. SYSDBRC=[45] and SYSDBMSG=[NETEZZA: ERROR:
DMARP61B.ADMIN.CI_CELL_PACKAGE_TREATMENT_CNT : Could not serialize - transaction aborted  ]

To work around this problem, add the option AUTOCOMMIT=YES to the Netezza SAS Customer Intelligence Reporting Common Data Model library definition:

  1. In SAS® Management Console, navigate to Environment Management ► Data Libraries ► Libraries.
  2. Highlight the Netezza SAS Customer Intelligence Reporting Common Data Model library. Right-click this library and select Properties.
  3. Open the Options tab, click Advanced Options, and click the Input/Output tab.
  4. Set the field Whether to commit immediately after a transaction: to Yes.

This setting adds the option AUTOCOMMIT=YES to the generated libname statement.
