Problem Note 46443: Currency symbols might not be displayed correctly in SAS® Enterprise Case Management
Sometimes currency symbols are not displayed correctly in SAS Enterprise Case Management. Instead of the correct currency symbol, a different symbol is displayed. This problem happens because of limitations on the "currency" format in SAS Enterprise Case Management screen definition files.
For example, in the sample file "case-fin-01.xml", the FinancialItemsTable component is configured to show the base amount of the financial item as a currency. The XML looks like this:
<param name="field" value="'BASE_AMT:currency'" />
Columns formatted as "currency" are displayed as a monetary amount with a currency symbol. The currency symbol is based on the language and locale settings in your Web browser, which can be overridden by your SAS Enterprise Case Management preferences.
If your currency symbols are not displaying correctly, then try the following workarounds:
- If you specified a language but not a locale (for example "fr" for French instead of "fr-CA" for French-Canada), then specify a locale in addition to a language.
- If your SAS Enterprise Case Management users have different language/locale settings, then you should change all screen definition XML files that use the "currency" format to use the "number" format instead.
- If your SAS Enterprise Case Management users use different currencies, then you should change all of your screen definition XML files to use multiple fields for entering currency values. For example, you could add one field for a base currency amount, another field for a local currency amount, and another field for a currency conversion date. The currency fields should use the "number" format.
