Problem Note 46405: META libname engine no longer reports column length inconsistencies when it should

If you attempt to reference a table using a libref defined with the META engine, and the length defined for a column in the SAS® Metadata Repository does not match the length of the column in the physical data set, you should receive the following error:
ERROR: Incorrect length in SAS Metadata Repository for column column_name.
However, if you have installed hot fix B25123, the engine fails to report this error under these conditions. This can cause behavioral inconsistencies in the client applications that expect the metadata column attributes to match the physical column attributes.
