Problem Note 46877: Buttons and menus are not enabled when starting SAS® Management Console
If you open SAS® Management Console immediately after restarting your web application server, some of the buttons and menu items might be grayed and unavailable for use. This problem occurs if the web application server is installed on the same machine where the SAS® Metadata Server is running, and the web application has not yet fully initialized when you start SAS Management Console. The problem can also occur if the web application server process has encountered an out-of-resources issue (such as insufficient memory).
To confirm that this is the problem, stop the web application server and try to log into SAS Management Console once again. If all the functionality appears, this confirms the issue is caused by the interaction with the web application server.
To correct the problem, close SAS Management Console, wait until your web application server has completely initialized, then reopen SAS Management Console. If the problem persists, investigate the web application server log for insufficient resource errors, correct those errors, and restart the web application server. Wait until the web application server has completely initialized before invoking SAS Management Console.
