Problem Note 46796: "WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference DISPLAYNAME1_I not resolved" when frequency fitting
In SAS® OpRisk VaR, you might encounter the following message in the SAS log when you attempt to perform frequency fitting for multiple distributions:
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference DISPLAYNAME1_I not resolved
The message is then followed by a Java traceback, and the display frequency model fails for the distributions.
This problem is due to incorrect parsing by the application when a distribution that has no parameters, such as the ONE frequency distribution, is listed in the Extensions.xml file prior to a distribution that has at least one parameter, such as the Poisson distribution.
To circumvent this problem, ensure that the distributions without parameters are listed after the other distributions (that is, those with at least one parameter) in the Extensions.xml file.
