In addition, the SAS log can contain errors. The log might contain errors similar to either of the ones shown below:
Error 1
The open data operation failed.
The following error occured.
[Error] IOM call failed.)
Error 2
ERROR: IOM call failed because of a data conversion error.
These errors are produced when the Additional Table Options field is deleted. Even though the value in the field is deleted, the Additional Table Options field remains in metadata with an empty value, causing the errors to be produced for the table. This situation only happens when the table is associated with a library that uses the META engine.
To remove the Additional Table Options field from table in Metadata, follow the instructions listed below:
- In SAS® Management Console, right-click the table and select Properties.
- In the Properties dialog box, click the Physical Storage tab. Then click the Table Options button to open the Table Options dialog box.
- In the Additional Table Options text box, enter some placeholder text.
- Click OK to exit the Table Options dialog box. Then click OK again to save the action and exit the Properties dialog box.
- In SAS Management Console, right-click the table again and select Properties.
- In the Properties dialog box, click the Physical Storage tab. Then click Table Options to open the Table Options dialog box.
- Next to the Additional Table Options text box, click Reset.
- In the General section, click the Reset to defaults link.
- Click OK to exit the Table Options dialog box. Then click OK again to save the action and exit the Properties dialog box.
