Problem Note 46302: Sequential files on a z/OS server fail to open from SAS® Enterprise Guide® 4.3 user-defined folders
Attempts to access sequential files, partitioned data set (PDS) members, or extended PDS (PDSE) members on z/OS servers via "User Defined Folders" while using SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 and 5.1 might fail. The problem occurs when the entry in "User Defined Folders" has more than one Data Set Name level.
For example, if you want to access the PDS or PDSE file member "SASUSER.TEST.SOURCE.JOBS(SAS2)," you can access it successfully from a "User Defined Folders" entry similar to the following:
SASUSER.*
However, it fails and returns an error if the entry is this:
SASUSER.TEST.SOURCE.*
In this case, an error similar to one of the following occurs:
For PDS/PDSEs:
Unable to get file "JOBS/SAS2" from server.
The file SAS2 in path JOBS on server SASApp was not found
For sequential files:
The requested operation could not be performed by the SAS server.
