Problem Note 46024: Delays occur when you start a new load-balanced SAS Workspace Server session that uses SAS® Grid Computing grid load balancing
When you start a new SAS Workspace Server session that is configured with
SAS Grid Computing load balancing, delays might occur.
This issue occurs with SAS® Enterprise Guide® and SAS® Data Integration Studio and possibly others.
Each SAS Workspace Server acts as a SAS/CONNECT® client and periodically requests status from the Load Sharing Facility (LSF) master batch daemon (mbatchd) to determine whether the grid job that was started for the SAS/CONNECT server has failed. Because this status request occurs every second, mbatchd becomes overwhelmed with the requests, and response time is affected. The mbatchd process also consumes greater amounts of CPU.
