Usage Note 46016: Console mode for the SAS® Download Manager
The SAS Download Manager (DLM) for z/OS and UNIX has a graphical user interface that requires the use of an x11 server, if available. At many sites, this software is already available and running on the UNIX and/or Microsoft Windows system.
If you do not have access to an x11 server, you might be able to use the DLM in console mode, which allows you to download your software order without an x11 server. Console mode presents each dialog in text in place of using a window interface.
You can use the ‐console command line option with other options at the same time, such as recording or playing back a response file.
The ‐console command line option also supports two options to specify the size of the output of the SAS Download Manager:
- Use ‐pagesize # to specify the number of lines to display before pausing the output.
- Use ‐pagewidth # to specify the number of characters to display on a line before wrapping to another line.
Note that ‐pagesize and ‐pagewidth do not work with any other command line options.
Here is an example:
./<file name> ‐‐ ‐console ‐pagesize 20 ‐pagewidth 50
For more information about using SAS Download Manager, see the ReadME files on the Downloads page.
