Problem Note 45820: Optimization solvers stop execution for numerically unstable problems

For numerically unstable instances solved by the MILP or simplex LP solvers (primal, dual, network, or crossover) within PROC OPTMILP, PROC OPTLP, and PROC OPTMODEL, the solver might stop with a “floating point exception”, “domain error”, or similar critical error message. The exact message depends on the computing platform used and exact circumstances involved. The error occurs under very specific circumstances when internal data structures become corrupted while dealing with unstable linear algebra operations.
