When you add constraints or refresh data, SAS Marketing Optimization might take a very long time or fail to complete execution of these tasks. When this slow-down happens, the SAS Marketing Optimization client session that is associated with the tasks appears unresponsive. There are no errors or warnings reported in the log files when the problem occurs. Instead, it appears that the logs have stopped updating.
One reason that this problem occurs is that SAS Marketing Optimization performs PROC SQL statements to retrieve column names in the SAS dictionary tables. These queries result in a traversal of all librefs that are defined in your repository. This traversal might take a very long time if your environment has a large number of libraries and/or a large number of tables in those libraries.
Another underlying cause for the behavior described above is that the software might reach the maximum number of connections to the database(s) underlying those librefs.
