Sample 45254: Force long words to wrap within the browser when using the ODS HTML destination
Long words that do not contain embedded spaces are not wrapped within the browser by default. This can lead to very wide columns when output is generated with the ODS HTML destination.
To force the columns to wrap around within the browser, the HTMLSTYLE= attribute can be added with the cascading style sheet (CSS) style property "word-wrap" and a width for the column.
The sample code below illustrates this.
data one;
x="abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefg";
run;
ods html file="c:\temp.html";
proc print data=one;
var x / style(data)={htmlstyle="word-wrap:break-word" cellwidth=1in};
run;
ods html close;
