Problem Note 45226: A "server location is already registered for use.." error occurs when you create a project
When you install one of the SAS® Enterprise Miner™ clients, SAS Enterprise Miner Workstation Configuration 7.1, or SAS Enterprise Mine for Desktop 7.1, the installation completes. However, when you create a project within SAS Enterprise Miner, you receive the following error:
This server location is already registered for use, either by another project,
or by another SAS Application. Or user does not have permission to create
project at this location. Try using a different name for your project, or enter
a different path.
This problem results from a timing issue. SAS Enterprise Miner attempts to connect to the workspace server before the workspace server starts listening.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue. However, in practice the timing issue is rare. Before you apply the hot fix, investigate the following notes. The notes explain more-probable causes of the error.
- 45425, "A 'server location is already registered for use..' error occurs when you create a project in SAS® Enterprise Miner(tm) 7.1 maintenance one"
- 43891, "A 'server location is already registered for use..' error occurs when you create a project"
- 45889, "Creating a new project gives 'NO_FILE' or 'Cannot open project. The physical location for this project has been deleted..' errors"
