Problem Note 45003: A "generic critical error" might occur when you are paging up or down in or clearing the Output window in SAS® 9.3

Your SAS 9.3 system might unexpectedly stop running and close with one of the task tracebacks or errors shown below. This problem occurs when you are paging up or down in the Output window or when you are clearing the Output window.

There is more than one way to clear the window. You can do any of the following while the Output window is active:

  • Press Alt+E and then select Clear all from the drop-down menu.
  • Press Ctrl+E.
  • Right-click inside the Output window and then select Edit ► Clear all.

 

To work around this problem, apply the fix located on the Hot Fix tab above, or do the following:

  1. From the menu, select Tools ► Options ► Preferences.
  2. Click the Results tab.
  3. If Create Listing is checked, deselect it.
  4. In the HTML section, click to select the Create HTML option and click OK.

A hot fix is available on the Hot Fix tab. This issue is fixed in SAS® 9.3 (TS1M2).
