Problem Note 45801: Error messages are generated when you import an Excel file with a long worksheet name
When you use the IMPORT procedure (PROC) to read an Excel file, you might receive one of the following errors:
ERROR: SHEET NAME value exceeds maximum length of 32 characters.
Cannot get list of tables from file datasource.
By default, the Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine appends a $ to each worksheet name.
The maximum filename length supported by Microsoft is 31 characters. If the worksheet name of the Excel file is 31 characters, the appended $ makes the worksheet name too long.
To avoid these errors, shorten the name of the worksheet to 30 or fewer characters.
