Usage Note 45735: WARNING: END-OF-RECORD option <OVER option> in effect for infile
This WARNING is written to the log in the following situations:
1. When a program has multiple INFILE statements using the same input file and using OVER options.
The warning is generated even if the same OVER option is used. It occurs if the filename is used directly with the INFILE statement, or if a fileref is used.
For example, this code
filename tmp 'c:\testin.txt';
data _null_;
infile tmp missover;
infile tmp missover;
run;
generates this WARNING in the SAS log:
WARNING: END-OF-RECORD option MISSOVER in effect for infile TMP.
2. When there are multiple OVER options in the same INFILE statement.
The last OVER option is used. For example, this code
data _null_;
infile 'c:\testin.txt' missover truncover;
run;
generates this WARNING in the SAS log:
WARNING: END-OF-RECORD option TRUNCOVER in effect for infile 'c:\testin.txt'.
