Installation Note 45616: The SASĀ® 9.3 PROMOTE hot-fix job incorrectly overwrites files in the installation
When you apply a hot fix to SAS 9.3, the PROMOTE job overwrites the high-level-qualifier.TKMVSENV(TKMVSENV) member, the high-level-qualifier.SASRXCFG(REXXSITE), and all members of the high-level-qualifier.CONFIG PDS (partitioned data set) except for the SITE member.
Overwriting these elements might cause the loss of some options that are defined for products such as SAS® IT Resource Management and SAS/GRAPH® and any customizations that you might have made to the REXXSITE options. The changes differ depending on the combination of SAS products that you have installed. Most sites see that the TKJNI_OPT_LIBPATH statement in the TKMVSENV member has lost the site-specific Java location specified during installation.
To work around this issue, make a backup copy of all members of these libraries and any customizations that you have made to CLIST or REXX executables before you execute the PROMOTE job.
Alternatively, you can skip running the PROMOTE job and, instead, copy the files that have changed from the hot-fix libraries to your production libraries. A list of the files that were changed can be found in the /SASHOME/InstallMisc/InstallLogs/IT_yyyy-mm-dd-hh.mm.ss_filelist.log file that corresponds to your invocation of the hot-fix utility.
