Problem Note 45505: The values of included variables might be missing in the Web View version of e-mails that are generated by SAS® Digital Marketing
In the Web View version of e-mails generated by SAS Digital Marketing, the values of included variables might be missing. This problem occurs when the Advanced Server Property AllowUrlCustomizations is set to false. If the data type of the tracked variables that are used to interrogate the table do not match the actual data held in the column, then the query fails. For example, the problem occurs if the tracked variable customer_id holds numbers, but the column has a data type of character. When this problem occurs, the Web Application Server log file might contain the following error:
java.sql.SQLException: Unable to execute query:
SQL passthru expression contained these errors: ERROR: Expression using equals (=)
has components that are of different data types.
One workaround for SAS Marketing Automation-related broadcasts is to change the data type in the underlying information map, and in the SAS® Marketing Automation database, to match the data. You can then create a SAS Digital Marketing export definition using this revised column.
