Problem Note 45473: SAS® Digital Marketing broadcasts might not send e-mails to all intended recipients
SAS Digital Marketing might fail to send e-mails to all of the intended recipients in a broadcast. SAS Digital Marketing checks e-mail addresses as it moves broadcast e-mails to the e-mail server. E-mails that have incorrectly formatted e-mail addresses are removed from the broadcast, and the audit table is updated with these failures.
Later in the broadcast process, there is an additional check of the e-mail addresses. If any are found to be incorrectly formatted at this stage, SAS Digital Marketing generates an error message similar to the one below in its log file:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.sas.email.send.SendOutputStream.send(SendOutputStream.java:1441)
at com.sas.email.send.SendOutputStream.handleContentReading(SendOutputStream.java:537)
at com.sas.email.send.SendOutputStream.write(SendOutputStream.java:344)
at java.io.OutputStream.write(OutputStream.java:110)
SAS Digital Marketing might remove the complete subset (thread) of e-mails that are associated with an incorrect e-mail address at this stage. Removal causes e-mails that have correctly formatted e-mail addresses to be removed from the broadcast. These e-mails are then not sent to the intended recipients. The audit table is not updated with the failures found at this stage.
