Problem Note 45434: Dashboards created with SAS® BI Dashboard 4.31 cannot be opened in Microsoft Outlook using the SAS® Add-In 4.3 for Microsoft Office
If you attempt to open a dashboard created with SAS BI Dashboard 4.31 in Microsoft Outlook, you might receive an error message similar to the following:
The specified path does not reference a dashboard or indicator: /Shared Data/Libraries/Test/name.idx.
When you click OK in the message box, you see this message
The provided SAS Application configuration is invalid.
This error occurs because an embedded run time configuration file is missing some required tags.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue. The hot fix is for SAS BI Dashboard.
After you apply the hot fix, in order to prevent the SAS Application message from appearing, you must modify the embedded run time configuration file, which is located at C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASBIDashboard\4.31\Configurable\wars\sas.bidashboard\DashboardRuntime\embedded-config.xml.orig. Specifically, you must add the following tags:
<applicationName>SAS BI Dashboard</applicationName>
<!-- Short identifier that is unique per app across all versions -->
<applicationIdentifier>BID</applicationIdentifier>
After you make this change, you must rebuild SAS BI Dashboard 4.31, and then redeploy the updated Web application. For information about these tasks, see Rebuilding the SAS Web Applications and Redeploying Web Applications.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
