Problem Note 45178: An error occurs when you remove the configuration of a middle-tier web application after a successful migration from SAS® 9.1.3 BI Server
If you have a SAS 9.1.3 BI Server installation and you migrate to release 9.2 or later, you might receive an error when the following events are true:
- You remove the configuration for a middle-tier web application.
- Your software depot (migrated installation) contains a web application client at release 4.3 or earlier than 4.31.
When the configuration removal process reaches SAS® Web Report Studio, you might then receive the following error message:
Content Mapping was unable to connect to ctnlax02.unx.sas.com, port =8080.
The configuration-removal instructions say to stop JBoss because part of configuration removal process for a web application is the deletion of its EAR or WAR content from the application server. However, the error occurs because JBoss needs to be running in order for the SAS® Content Server to delete information.
For release 4.3 of you web application client, the error occurs and the removal of the configuration fails. There is no solution or workaround for this problem.
In release 4.31, the error message does not appear, although the underlying problem still exists. However, the application still works correctly. Because the error message does not appear, removal of the configuration completes successfully.
