Problem Note 44827: Faulting application sas.exe and faulting module sashost.dll when starting SAS 9.3
When you open SAS 9.3 on the Windows operating system,
SAS might close unexpectedly and/or the following errors
might be seen in the Windows Event Viewer.

This can happen if there is a conflict with the printers that are on
your operating system.
To correct this error, perform the following steps:
1. Open Windows Explorer and go to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\SASFoundation\9.3\nls\en\
or
C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.3\nls\en\
2. Make a copy of the sasv9.cfg file, by highlighting the file,
right click and select "Copy"; then in the Windows Explorer window
click "Edit", "Paste". It will create a copy called "sasv9 - Copy.cfg".
3. Edit the original sasv9.cfg in Notepad, adding the following
line to the top of the file, save it, close Notepad
and restart SAS.

This specifies whether printers that are attached to the
system are recognized.

If this does not resolve the issue, please open a track with
SAS Technical Support and provide the following information:
* deploywiz.log, SDWPREFS.txt, SDW.log, and SDM.log from
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid_that_the_performed_install>\
Local Settings\Application Data\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard\
or
C:\Users\<userid_that_the_performed_install>\AppData\
Local\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard\
* C:\Program Files\SASHome\InstallMisc\InstallLogs\IT_date-time-stamp.log
(for example:IT_2011-01-24-14.36.09.log)
* Click Start>Run and type msinfo32.exe
When the system information comes up click File>Save and type system
for the name and then send the system.nfo file that gets created.
