Problem Note 44645: When first using SAS® Warranty Analysis to run an analysis, the analysis fails with the error "ERROR: User does not have appropriate authorization..."

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
On your first attempt to run an analysis with the SAS Warranty Analysis rich client, the analysis fails with red x on icon. The Analysis Status field shows "Error" with no additional information available on the Messages tab. The analysis log in the Diagnostic Client might show the following error message:

ERROR: User does not have appropriate authorization level for file OWNERFDL.<>.CATALOG

A problem occurs because the util_allocWARRuser macro, which runs during the start-up of Enterprise Guide or the Add-in for Microsoft Office, might create a USERFDL directory with the incorrect owner.

An acceptable workaround is available by correcting the directory owner and group using the appropriate operating system commands. Typically, the owner should be 'sassrv' and the group SAS, although it might vary for some installations. If in doubt, look at other directories in USERFFDL.
