Beginning with z/OS 1.12, the /bin/tsocmd USS utility is shipped with the z/OS operating system. This IBM supported utility is not the same as the tsocmd USS utility that is provided through the IBM Tools and Toys Web site. See SAS Note 13612 for details about downloading the IBM Tools and Toys version of the tsocmd utility.

The z/OS 1.12 (and later) version of the tsocmd USS utility does not work with the SAS 9.1 spawners. This new tsocmd USS utility does work with SAS 9.2 (and later) spawners if you do the following:

• Apply IBM APAR OA35988
• Add the statement below to the spawner shell script
  export BPXWRFD=YES
• Follow the directions in SAS Note 40451

To run SAS code using authorized commands in SAS 9.1 spawner environments, continue to use the IBM Tools and Toys version of the tsocmd USS utility.
