Problem Note 44463: Cannot select all levels of the analytical hierarchy when selecting products and locations for a new model group configuration
When using the SAS® Merchandise Solutions Configuration Workbench to add model groups using the Create New Configuration Group dialog, you might notice that you cannot select all levels of the analytical hierarchy at or above the level of the MODEL_LOW_DATA_LVL setting in the Select Products and Locations for Model Group dialog. Initially, it will appear that you can select all levels. However, if you select a level that is below the GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL setting then the Workbench will become nonresponsive for a short time and eventually will revert to only levels at or above GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL. This issue occurs because the Workbench is incorrectly using the GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL setting instead of the MODEL_LOW_DATA_LVL setting to set the available selection levels.
A workaround for this issue is to temporarily set the GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL setting to match the MODEL_LOW_DATA_LVL setting. This will require a manual edit to the global setting table since the Workbench will not allow you to use the analytical hierarchy levels for this setting. After you have changed the GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL setting, launch the Workbench and you should be able to expand the product and location trees to their complete levels. After you have made your configuration changes, manually reset the GEO_PROD_LOW_DATA_LVL setting to its original value.
The hot fix available in the hot fix tab only applies to SAS® Merchandise Solutions Configuration Workbench 4.2 M1.
