Problem Note 44371: Dangling nodes might exist in analytical hierarchy

If you use an attribute-based analytical hierarchy for modeling in SAS® Regular Price Optimization or SAS® Promotion Optimization, you might encounter dangling nodes. Dangling nodes are nodes that are not at the lowest level of the hierarchy and do not have other nodes under them. The dangling nodes are created when there are changes in attribute values and the old attribute values become obsolete.
A cleanup task will be added to the weekly attribute hierarchy job to check and remove dangling nodes in the analytical hierarchy.
There is no workaround for this issue.
The hot fix available in the hot fix tab only applies to SAS® Promotion Optimization 4.2 M1 and SAS® Regular Price Optimization 4.2 M1.
