Problem Note 44360: An RLS LIBNAME statement with an SAPW= value that contains more than eight characters causes a segmentation violation in the client
A segmentation violation occurs when you submit a Remote Library Services (RLS) LIBNAME statement that specifies a server access password (SAPW= option) for which the unencoded value is more than eight characters. The following example illustrates a LIBNAME statement that can cause the segmentation violation:
libname rmtwork slibref=work server=__8551 sapw="ThisPWisTooLong";
The RLS LIBNAME statement documentation states that the server access password cannot contain more than eight characters. (See "LIBNAME Statement" in "Chapter 10: Remote Library Services" in the SAS/SHARE® 9.2 User's Guide) However, an invalid password should not cause a segmentation violation to occur.
Currently, there is no solution for this problem.
A fix for this issue is planned for a future software release.
