The following warning messages might be issued when you use the BARCHARTPARM statement with PROC SGPLOT:

WARNING: BARCHARTPARM statement has a conflict with the axis type. The plot will not be drawn.
WARNING: REFERENCELINE statement must be overlaid with one or more non-parameterized plots in a OVERLAY layout. The plot will not be drawn.

The problem occurs when all of the following are true:

• The category variable is a numeric variable.
• A BY statement is used.
• The UNIFORM=ALL option is included in the PROC SGPLOT statement.

To circumvent the problem, specify a discrete type axis using the TYPE=DISCRETE option in the axis statement for the category axis.
