Problem Note 44920: You cannot add a spreadsheet to an existing Microsoft Excel workbook when using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC Files 9.3 with the XLSX engine
When using SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files and you set DBMS=XLSX, you cannot create multiple spreadsheets in a Microsoft Excel workbook. The SAS log reflects this behavior:
proc export dbms=xlsx
outfile="$HOME/testing_directory/pcfiles_test_files/exceltest1.xlsx"
data=sashelp.shoes;
putnames=yes;
sheet=shoes;
run;
NOTE: The export data set has 395 observations and 7 variables.
NOTE: "/testing_directory/pcfiles_test_files/exceltest1.xlsx" file was
successfully created.
NOTE: PROCEDURE EXPORT used (Total process time):
real time 0.14 seconds
cpu time 0.02 seconds
proc export dbms=xlsx
outfile="$HOME/testing_directory/pcfiles_test_files/exceltest1.xlsx"
data=sashelp.air;
putnames=yes;
sheet=air;
run;
NOTE: Export cancelled. Output file
/testing_directory/pcfiles_test_files/exceltest1.xlsx already
exists. Specify REPLACE option to overwrite
This issue will be addressed in a future software release.
