Usage Note 44896: The error "Unable to determine user account for execution" might occur when you submit a grid job from a SAS session or with the SASGSUB command
When you submit a grid job from Windows via a SAS session or the SASGSUB command, you might see an authentication error similar to the following:
ERROR: PROVIDER(Platform): Unable to determine user account for execution;
This problem occurs because the LSF authentication routines cannot strip the user's DOMAIN when submitting to a UNIX host. The SAS session and the SASGSUB command use the LSF 6.2 API routines. These are limited to handling only one user domain, the name of which has to be specified in uppercase characters. Here is an example of a problem with the user domain configuration in an lsf.conf file:
LSF_USER_DOMAIN=mydomain:BIGDOMAIN:OTHER
It is possible that if your grid is running under Windows and you are logged on as MYDOMAIN\user_name, you could submit to a Windows grid. However, the LSF routines does not strip the MYDOMAIN from the user name to submit to the UNIX system. This situation occurs when the domain name is not in uppercase characters in the lsf.conf file. It also occurs when there are other domains in the domain search path. To correct this issue, specify only the one domain that is needed and specify it in uppercase characters:
