Problem Note 44750: A warning occurs when an OLE DB LIBNAME statement accesses an SQL Server table that contains a VARCHAR(MAX) data type

SQL Server data is not read properly under the following conditions:
- You use the LIBNAME OLEDB statement to connect to Microsoft SQL Server.
- You specify CONNECTION=SHARED and READBUFF=.
- The SQL Server table contains a VARCHAR(MAX) data type.
A warning that is similar to the following might be written to the log in this scenario:
WARNING: During read: Value cannot be determined for column COLUMN1
When you use the LIBNAME ODBC statement to connect to Microsoft SQL Server and specify CONNECTION=SHARED and READBUFF= , the same DBMS table is read properly.
SQLOLEDB is a legacy provider. To circumvent this problem, you must use the new provider, such as the SQL Server Native Client (SQLNCLI11) or the Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server (MSOLEDBSQL).
