Problem Note 44642: SAS® Marketing Automation returns "Error validating input data" when you create a marketing optimization group
SAS Marketing Optimization might return the following error when you try to create project input data for a marketing optimization group:
Error validating input data
This error occurs when a selection node in the SAS® Marketing Automation campaign that you are optimizing returns zero rows.
When SAS Marketing Optimization uses the campaign data from SAS Marketing Automation campaigns, it creates an entry in the Communication table with a corresponding entry in the Control table. SAS Marketing Automation creates entries in the Communication table only for the select nodes with nonzero counts, essentially ignoring any select nodes with zero counts. However, the Control table is correctly populated with entries for both the select nodes with nonzero counts and select nodes with zero counts. The input creation process in SAS Marketing Optimization fails under these conditions because this process expects the entries in the two tables to match.
