Installation Note 44576: SAS® Download Manager 1.5.x fails on Linux hosts with message similar to "Cannot open shared object file"
If the SAS Download Manager fails in a Linux environment, review the esdclient_*.log file and look for a message similar to the following:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/selfgz.../jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so: libXtst.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
To circumvent the problem, the system administrator should install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the libXp.so libraries.
The system requirements for the SAS Download Manager for Linux are provided in the readme.txt file on the SAS Download Manager page:
Note: If you use Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 5 or later, the SAS
Download Manager requires both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of
libXp.so to be installed. These libraries can be found in the libXp
package. In addition, libXtst.so should also be installed.
These libraries are also required for SAS Foundation deployments and for the SAS Deployment Wizard. See
SAS Note 36170.
