Installation Note 44565: The SAS® Download Manager for Macintosh seems unresponsive after you download the .dmg file from the external download page

When you are using the SAS Download Manager on a Macintosh system that is running OS X 10.5.8, it might seem as if the download manager launches, bounces, and then quits unexpectedly. You might also be unable to download the software.
If this problem occurs, make sure that you have the 32-bit version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. SAS supports only the 32-bit JRE with the SAS Download Manager for Macintosh systems.
