Usage Note 44018: "The application encountered an error reading or writing metadata" might occur when building a SAS® OLAP cube
When building an OLAP cube with SAS® OLAP Cube Studio, you might receive the following error:
The application encountered an error reading or writing metadata
The details include the following message:
Attempt to find login for Auth Domain Failed
The message box is shown in the following display.

This problem typically occurs when the user who is building the cube does not have any credentials that match the authentication domain of the SAS/CONNECT® Server that is defined in metadata. For example, if you switch the authentication domain for the SAS Workspace Server but neglect to switch the authentication domain for the SAS/CONNECT Server, then a mismatch exists.
As a workaround, ensure that the user has valid credentials in the authentication domain of the SAS/CONNECT Server. You can either change the authentication domain for the SAS/CONNECT Server so that it matches the domain used for the workspace server, or you can add another stored credential to the authentication domain used by the SAS/CONNECT Server.
