Problem Note 43963: SQL State HY000, General Error - Illegal Exception
When debugging SAS
® High-Performance Markdown Optimization issues related to the Grid Server, it is not uncommon to see the following message(s) in the
HiPerfMerchIntelGridSvr.log:

[pool-12-thread-5] DEBUG - STDOUT: 05:59:13 MDO_528266_pamts : Diagnostic Record 1: SQL State HY000, General Error - Illegal Exception
If the module location shows "...pamts", this error can be ignored. In the example above, the MDO_528266-pamts indicates that this type of HY000 is innocuous.
If you have seen the above HY000 error with the specified conditions, you will also see a very serious looking set of ERRORs:

These errors correspond to the same pool/thread as the HY000, and are basically a stack dump when the thread ends. These errors can be ignored as well, as long it corresponds to a HY000 error.
Remember to correlate the [pool-XX-thread-XX] for the ERROR to HY000!

There are cases where this error and it's corresponding stack dump are innocuous.
