Usage Note 43944: STARJOIN performance problem caused by default value of STARSIZE memory
With SAS®
Scalable Performance Data Server®
4.52 and 4.4, if the default STARSIZE memory is set to 32Mb rather than the SORTSIZE server parameter, and if the value is not included in the
spdsserv.parm file, STARJOIN initializes slowly.
As a workaround, specify the STARSIZE parameter in the spdsserv.parm file.
A better solution, however, is to upgrade to the latest maintenance release for the version of SAS SPD Server that you are currently running.
Select the Hot Fix tab to access the latest maintenance release
for the version of SAS SPD Server you are currently running.
