Problem Note 43787: Performance is adversely affected by SQL queries that use unique indexes through SAS/SHARE® software

For SQL procedure (PROC) queries that use unique indexes through SAS/SHARE software, performance might be significantly diminished as compared to the same queries that do not go through SAS/SHARE software. The problem occurs only when the client SAS session is running SAS® 9.2. The version of the SAS/SHARE server is not relevant. The problem occurs when PROC SQL requests each unique index item from the SAS/SHARE server through the entire index.
To work around the problem, add the following statement anywhere before the PROC SQL step:
