Problem Note 43664: The TERMSTMT= option terminates a job after 30 seconds

When the TERMSTMT= option is used during a SAS® 9.2 SAS/CONNECT® session and the sign-off takes more than 30 seconds to disconnect the session, the following error message occurs: 

ERROR: User asked for termination

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

With this hot fix, use one of the following methods on your SAS® 9.2 client to set the environment variable to 120 seconds:

  • Before you start the client SAS session, submit the following option from a command line:
    export CONNECTSDWAIT=120
  • Include the following SET option in the SAS command that you use to invoke the SAS client:
    -set CONNECTSDWAIT=120
