Problem Note 43647: Forecast Plot might be incorrect if Data Preparation options are changed from the default settings

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In Forecast Studio 3.1, the default Data Preparation options, specified in Step 6 of 8 in the New Project Wizard set up or under Project > Forecasting Settings > Data Preparation in an existing project, are set to:

Select how to interpret embedded missing values:Missing
Select which leading/trailing missing values to remove:None
Select which leading/trailing zero values to interpret as missing: None

If a certain combination of these options are changed from their default setting for a project that involves a hierarchy, then the values displayed in the resulting Forecast Plot and Forecast Table in the Forecasting View might not match for a given series.

The values shown in the Forecast Table are correct, but the values displayed in the plot are incorrect. This problem might not occur for all series in a project, but could occur for hierarchical projects in which some series have fewer non-missing values than other series in the hierarchy. The forecasts written to the OUTFOR= data set associated with the project are correct.

To avoid any problems, we recommend doing any data preparation needed for your data outside of SAS Forecast Studio before you create your project.
