Problem Note 43645: An error occurs when you use SAS® Enterprise Guide® to "remote submit" a statement that contains a DISP= parameter to a z/OS SAS/CONNECT® Server

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Enterprise Guide, you can submit SAS/CONNECT code to a local server or to a remote SAS Workspace Server that is licensed for SAS/CONNECT. For details, see SAS Note 18249: "Setting up SAS® Enterprise Guide® to access remote data from a SAS/CONNECT® Spawner or Server."

However, when SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2, 4.3, or 5.1 connects to a server on an operating system other than z/OS and “remote submits” code to a z/OS server that contains a LIBNAME or FILENAME statement with a DISP= parameter, the following error occurs:

ERROR 22-7: Invalid option name DISP.

The error seems to occur on the z/OS SAS/CONNECT server but actually occurs on the local server or a workspace server that is not a z/OS server. The remotely submitted LIBNAME or FILENAME statement is successfully executed on the z/OS SAS/CONNECT Server with the requested DISP= disposition.

To correct this error, do the following for the z/OS SAS/CONNECT Server:

  • For SAS® 9.2 TS2M3 and SAS® 9.3 TS1M0: Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access and apply the hot fix for this issue.
  • For SAS 9.2 TS2M3 and all SAS 9.3 maintenance levels: Set the following option on either the SAS/CONNECT server launch command (SASCMD), in the config file, or in an OPTIONS statement in the SAS/CONNECT server's AUTOEXEC file: debug="CONNECT=00004000"
  • For SAS® 9.4: Set the option NOCONNECTEVENTS for the z/OS SAS/CONNECT server.
