When a member caption contains SAS macro references such as %MACRO, %DO, or %ELSE, the query tokenizer tries to resolve and execute these invocations. Taking this action could generate errors, breaking the SQL processing for a ROLAP cube.
For example, here is a query on OLAP cube named MacroCube:
select
[Measures].defaultmember on columns
from [MacroCube]
where [TDim].[All TDim].[%let]

This query generates the following errors in a detailed OLAP Server log:
