Problem Note 43352: An error occurs when you run a scenario in SAS® Marketing Optimization

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

A scenario optimization job in SAS Marketing Optimization fails, and the optimize.log file shows the following error:

MO START TIME: 15:09:28
WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference NEWCUSTCOMMCOLUMN10000 not resolved.
84 &newCustCommColumn10000
                        _
                        180
ERROR 180-322: Statement is not valid or it is used out of proper order.

When each calculated measure is created in SAS Marketing Optimization, a new column is automatically created in the (temporary) customer table for every communication. Assuming that you have a large number of communications, the number of columns might exceed the predefined limit of 9,999. For example, if you have 1,080 communications and you have 10 calculated measures, 1,080 new columns per measure have to be added. The problem occurs when the number of such columns is greater than 9,999.
