Problem Note 43351: An optimization job in SAS® Marketing Optimization continues to run and does not finish

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Your optimization job in SAS Marketing Optimization might continue to run instead of finishing in an expected timeframe. This can happen if you have a customer-specific measure that begins with the same three characters that are used to begin one or more other measures.

Here is an example. You have a customer-specific measure called ABC. ABC might be an input data measure, a calculated measure, or a customer indicator measure. You also have one or more measures that begin with ABC_. If you then have a calculated-measure formula that includes both the customer-specific measure ABC and at least two instances of measures that begin with ABC_, the optimization job will not finish. In this example, the two instances might be using the same measure, such as (ABC * ABC_NEW) + ABC_NEW, or they might be different measures, such as ABC + ABC_NEW + ABC_OLD.

To work around this issue, make sure that your measures do not begin with the same three characters.
