Problem Note 43931: SAS pooled workspace server sessions are sometimes not released after they execute SAS® Marketing Automation campaigns
SAS Marketing Automation sometimes fails to release pooled workspace server sessions after executing campaigns. There are no messages in the SAS Marketing Automation core logs indicating that the pooled workspace server sessions are not released. The campaigns complete successfully until all available pooled workspace server sessions are engaged. When there are no pooled workspace server sessions left, the SAS products that use these sessions become unresponsive.
This problem occurs when campaign diagrams contain And nodes feeding into Map nodes in the diagram flow. To avoid the problem, place a Cell node between any And nodes and the Map nodes that they are feeding.
If the SAS environment becomes unresponsive because of this problem, then performing the following steps frees the pooled workspace server sessions and returns the environment to a working state:
- Stop the Object Spawner.
- Stop any SAS sessions owned by the "sassrv" user on the SAS server.
- Restart the Object Spawner.
