Usage Note 43919: Authentication on AIX 6.1 fails
If you change the password encryption method from the default to
an unsupported method, you will
receive an "Authentication failed" error. The following error might also appear
in the sasauth-debug.log file:

20110417-21:24:37 User sassrv did not authenticate. Reason: 'User password uses unknown/unsupported encryption.' (pw)
20110417-21:24:37 Request failed: 'User password uses unknown/unsupported encryption.'

Authentication fails if the encryption method has been changed from the default, SSHA, to an unsupported method.
