Problem Note 43857: When creating external files containing fixed-length records, record attributes are created as NONE
If you create a file containing fixed-length records using
SAS® 9.2 on OpenVMS on HP Integrity
(VMI), the record attributes displayed when issuing
a dir/full on the file will display as NONE.
The resulting external file will not contain the proper carriage return characters and the lines may wrap.
You can change the record attributes on the file to carriage return/carriage control outside of SAS using the following command:
$ set file/attr=rat:cr outfile.dat
Alternatively, select the Hot Fix
tab in this note to access the hot fix for this problem.
